The Center
The Burgenland Croatian Center (Gradišćansko-hrvatski Centar, CGH) was established as an intercultural institution which works together with numerous organizations and institutions from Vienna, Burgenland, the other provinces of Austria, and neighboring countries. It offers new perspectives and possibilities for fostering the independent life of the ethnic group, and opportunities for working with other groups and the majority population.
Here you will find a map showing the location of the Burgenland Croatian Center.
The Croatian Association of University Graduates and Students and the Burgenland Croatian Culture Association of Vienna are the founding bodies of the Burgenland Croatian Center. Both organizations have been active in minority and cultural work for several decades.
| The Croatian Association of University Graduates and Students (HAK) traditionally focuses on youth work, not only looking after the needs of students and being involved in minority policy, but also in the area of scholarly research. |
| The Burgenland Croatian Culture Association of Vienna (HGKD) offers itself as a point of contact for Croats of all generations and social groups regardless of their political, social, or other past. |
Extensive work in culture and education for the Croats of Burgenland are the base from which the Burgenland Croatian Center aims through its activities to provide a bridge to the general population and other ethnic groups.
The Burgenland Croatian Center receives assistance from the Federal Chancellery (assistance to ethnic minorities), the Federal Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs and the Cultural Department of the City of Vienna.
